Kona is a deeply loved family companion who has been with us since she was a puppy. As we prepare for a major life transition involving full-time travel, we are thoughtfully searching for the right next chapter for her — one filled with love, stability, companionship, and joy.

Meet Kona

8 year old, and 9 months (DOB: July 30, 2017)
English Bulldog (with ~25% French Bulldog)
Temperament & Personality

She is incredibly sweet, loving, calm, and well-balanced. She has a gentle nature and enjoys being around people. She is playful when engaged but also very content relaxing at home.

She does especially well with people and children and tends to prefer human interaction over other dogs. While she is good with dogs, she doesn’t always know how to engage with them and is more people-oriented. She has never been around cats.

  • No separation anxiety

  • No destructive behavior

  • Fully trustworthy in the home

  • Only chews on her toys and bones and has never chewed furniture or household items

  • Occasionally “nurses” her toys by gently chewing on the ears or nose

  • Well-mannered and easy to care for

  • House trained / potty trained

  • Crate (kennel) trained

  • Trained not to jump on chairs, couches, or beds

Behavior
Kona’s Favorite Words 🐾
Life With Kona 🐾

Kona understands far more than people expect and is very expressive and emotionally in tune with the people around her. Some of her favorite words and phrases are:

“You wanna go?”
“You wanna play?”
"You wanna go for a walk?"
“Food”
“Ball”
“Car”
“Where’s Kona’s leash?”
“Where’s your baby? or ball”
"She" knows when your talking about her

And when it comes to treats, Kona loves her “cookies” — especially carrots and cabbage. One of her favorite games is when we toss little pieces into the yard and she excitedly sniffs around trying to find them 😊

Kona loves sleeping in during the mornings and enjoys a calm, cozy start to her day. By the afternoon, she’s ready for attention, pets, and love — and she’ll gently remind you when it’s time for affection.

She loves going on walks and absolutely adores the water. Swimming is one of her favorite things in the world. Although she can swim without a life vest, we always put one on her just to be safe. We often joke that she must have been a fish in a different life 😊

Kona has also done very well staying in boarding and kennel environments when we travel and generally adjusts well to new settings.

However, as we prepare for a long-term full-time travel lifestyle, we know that kind of constant transition would not be the right fit for her long-term happiness and stability. Our goal is to find her a loving, stable home where she can continue to thrive and be deeply cared for.

Her Journey

BFBA045C-1311-48F9-8DFE-C890DF96607F (1).jpeg

Kona has been part of our family since she was a puppy. During her early years, both of us spent much of our time working from home, especially throughout the COVID years, so she grew up always surrounded by love, companionship, and daily routines with us nearby.

She quickly became part of our everyday life — from quiet mornings and afternoon cuddles to walks, adventures, swimming, car rides, and playtime. She has always been a calm, loving, emotionally connected companion who simply enjoys being near her people.

Over the past couple of years, life and work schedules have naturally changed, and we have spent less time at home than we once did. Kona has adjusted well, and she has always handled changes with patience and resilience.

However, as we prepare for a future involving long-term full-time travel, including international travel requirements, changing regulations, quarantines, and frequent transitions between countries, we know in our hearts that this lifestyle would not provide the long-term stability and consistency Kona deserves.

Because we love her so deeply, our goal is to find a home where she can continue living the kind of life she has always known — one filled with love, companionship, comfort, stability, and belonging.

A Home Built on Love and Patience

We are thoughtfully searching for a calm, loving, and stable home for Kona. The questions below help us better understand potential families, lifestyles, and the kind of companionship Kona would have in her next chapter.

Because Kona has been a deeply loved part of our family since she was a puppy, we are taking our time with this process and carefully reviewing inquiries to find the best long-term fit for her personality, needs, and happiness.

We truly appreciate every inquiry and will reach out if we feel there may be a meaningful connection worth exploring further.

Our transition timeline is flexible over the coming year, allowing us to prioritize finding the right home rather than rushing the process.
